The trattoria of Massimiliano and his family
I Guelfi is the trattoria of Massimiliano and his family, in the centre of Pontedera. We cook what was eaten in Florentine homes: lampredotto, ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, rabbit all'etrusca, tonno del Chianti. We choose the ingredients ourselves, from the people who make them a few kilometres from here. From today you can find them in this shop too: the same ones we use in the kitchen, packed by us and shipped to your home.
The restaurant opened at the end of May 2026 at Via Aurelio Saffi 39, with a ribbon-cutting attended by the city's commerce councillor.

One family, one dining room, one kitchen. Hospitality here is informal and generous: you know us by name, and we know who brings us oil, pecorino and honey.
What we cook
Florentine home cooking and pizza. For every kit in the shop you will find the recipe we use.
Why "I Guelfi"?
The Guelfi were the Guelph faction of medieval Florence, and their symbol was the Florentine lily. You will find it in our mark: a light way of saying where we come from.
